Γιάννης Λιάιλιας – Νίκος Σοφιανίδης || Giannis Liailias – Nikos Sofianidis
Giannis Lialias was born in the Former Soviet Union on February 8, 1991. From an early age he spoke the Pontic dialect at home. From the age of 5 this was the reason to learn lyra and how to sing in the Pontian dialect, which is his entire life. From a young age he had listened to many recordings of Chrysanthos, and later on Dimitris Karasavvidis, whom he looks up to as a role model. He sings at weddings and at baptisms. There is not a day that does not listen to Pontian music! Pontian song and dialect is for Giannis a way of life and an integral part of his daily life. He was also a dancer at the Pontian Association of Aspropyrgos “Akrites tou Pontou”.
Nikos Sofianidis was born on April 9, 1999 in Athens. At the age of 8 he held the lyra in his hands for the first time and since then he has not let it go. His teacher was Lefteris Kamenidis. He plays in the Pontian Association of Aspropyrgos “Akrites tou Pontou” as a lyra player.
