Antonis Pilalidis presents the song “Sin Goulan ats Etachepsa” (I placed on her neck), together with a very pleasant video clip, well made with a lot of “kefi”, giving another air to this beautiful song.
Collaborating were the musicians Antonis Pilalidis (vocals), Tasos Petropoulos (lyra), Giannis Poulios (laouto) and George Kortsinidis (daouli) collaborated. Lakis Panagiotidis (LP Studio Rec) was responsible for the music editing, programming and final sound editing of the song. Babis Kemanetzidis (MK Music Productions) provided the recording studio.
Antonis Pilalidis told us details about this song:
“This audiovisual recording is dedicated to the memory of Daniel (Danilis) Emmanouilidis of Efstathios and Fotini, who was one of the true performers of the first generation of our tradition as it came from the Homeland (Pontos).
Danilis performed extremely well in the musical and linguistic idiom of Garasari-Asartzourch, playing the lyra and singing in various social and cultural events, but also in the well-known “muhabet”.
The last verse is his own inspiration, and we dedicate it to him.
He was born in 1901 in the village of Asartsouch, Nikopolis.
Arriving in 1924 in Greece – on the ship “Archipelagos”, he first settled in Thessaloniki and then moved to Kassitera, Rodopi. There he married Anastasia Kilindiridou with whom he had six children. He died in 1984 in Sapes.
So in the memory of all those who carried the tradition intact and handed it to us with love and hope.
I am pleased to present to you this recording of a traditional melody which is a valuable primary material of a special area of our homeland, Nikopolis.
Traditional lyrics, lyrics written by the soul, with the characteristic idiom of Garasari, were the motives of my personal desire in order to “record” a part of the endless wealth of our tradition.
This was “carried” with effort and self-denial by our people, coming to mother Greece, to pass it on to future generations.
A recording-tribute to the memory of a man of the Homeland who for many, as well as for mysef, was a bright point of reference, for the valuable collection of melodies, lyrics and information concerning our ancestral homes.
So, this is in memory of Daniel Emmanouilidis.
A co-founder of this project, Danos Emmanouilidis, a third generation Pontian from Garasaris, who, having the experiences of his grandfather, was the source of finding the lyrics of this area. I warmly thank him.
In memory of grandfather Danilis and all those who carried the Homeland in their souls and “brought” it to us here!
I dedicated this song to you, hoping that you will love it as much as I did!”
Best of luck with your beautiful song our dear friend Antonis!
